I understand employing your first employee can be daunting and my support includes detailed guidance which you can refer to as well as having access to myself.  The templates include employee contracts, handbook and essential policies. 

It is crucial that anyone working for you is given the correct documentation whether they are permanent, fixed term, casual/zero hours, self-employed – inside or outside IR35; plus, there are legal requirements on what the contract should contain and when it should be issued.

These will be fully editable. You can buy individual documents or a package which covers everything you need for your employees.  

  • Review and updating of your templates including your employee handbook and ensuring that it is tailored to the size of your business, is legally compliant and is easy to understand.
  • Core HR policies and procedures which are required for your employees or a suite of simple policies which covers all HR issues.
  • New starter toolkit of everything you need for your employees.  This can be tailored to your needs from basic contract templates to tailored documents.  The new starter toolkit starts from £500 which includes:
  • Bronze: Checklist on what you need to do to employ your first employee, template contract, basic handbook/guidance.
  • Silver: Includes everything in bronze, access to myself for up to 2 hours and guidance on how to adapt the templates.
  • Gold: Includes everything in silver, templates and handbook researched and adapted to your business needs and access to additional policies which can be added to handbook.  

Often, we recruit like for like but by standing back and considering what you need longer-term for your business to succeed you can better understand what your recruitment need actually is, and once you have recruited, how you can retain that key employee. I can support you with:

I will interpret and implement the changes to ensure you remain legally compliant.  I encourage resolution through mediation and facilitated conversations thus avoiding lengthly and costly employee relations issues.

Training, Development and Coaching

A business needs to know its strengths and weaknesses. I can work with you to produce either an overarching training plan or individual training plans for your employees, based on an analysis of their qualifications, skills and experience and what the needs are of your business. Any gaps will be identified and plans drawn up to address these gaps.

I can assist with coaching line managers and arranging the delivery of training. I work with a number of associates who specialise in delivering training and development.
